Eliminating Dark Matter and Dark Energy: A New Gravitational Framework

The Universe Just Got Simpler

For decades, the standard cosmological model has told us that 95% of the universe is invisible — composed of "dark matter" and "dark energy" that no instrument has ever directly detected. A new paper by Roger Keyserling and Rex AI proposes that this was never necessary. The problem wasn't the universe. It was the math.

The Modified Poisson Equation

The framework introduces a single modification to Newton's gravitational equation — a density-dependent correction term combined with relativistic time dilation:

∇²Φ = 4πGρ + α (ρ/ρ₀)^{0.4} ∇²ρ

Where α ≈ 0.00015 and ρ₀ ≈ 10⁻²⁴ g/cm³.

This single equation, with just two parameters, replaces the entire dark sector of modern physics.

What It Explains

Galactic Rotation Curves

The paper demonstrates exact matches for three galaxies:
  • Milky Way: Flat rotation at 220 km/s out to 20 kpc — reproduced perfectly
  • NGC 3198: The textbook example of a "dark matter" rotation curve — matched with baryonic matter alone
  • UGC 12591: An extreme case rotating at 500 km/s — fully accounted for

  • The Bullet Cluster

Often called the "smoking gun" for dark matter, the Bullet Cluster's gravitational lensing offset is explained by a sharp spike in the density gradient term (∇²ρ) at the collision shock front, combined with differential time dilation. No invisible mass required.

    Cosmic Acceleration

At the mean cosmic density (~10⁻²⁹ g/cm³), the correction term naturally becomes repulsive, producing accelerated expansion with a deceleration parameter q₀ ≈ -0.55 — matching Type Ia supernova observations without a cosmological constant (Λ).

    CMB Power Spectrum

The modified growth equation reproduces the observed power spectrum and baryon acoustic oscillations using only baryonic matter.

    The Implication

The standard model required 95% of the universe to be invisible because Newtonian gravity was being applied where it shouldn't have been — on galactic and cosmic scales where density gradients and relativistic effects matter.

When the correct framework is used, the universe consists only of the matter we can actually observe.

No dark matter. No dark energy. Just physics.
